Everyone is wondering what is happening in the film industry right now and when productions will be back in full swing. We recently hosted our Audition Update webinar to dive more into this speculation. Our special guests included casting directors Erica Arvold + Jami Rudofsky, and agents Jaron Matthews with J Pervis Talent Agency + Jacob Lawson with Privilege Talent Agency. Not only were these pros wonderful guests but they gave an interesting perspective of how this season is impacting and will continue to impact the film industry.
The biggest takeaway that each of the pros discussed was for actors to not stop. It’s very easy to get bogged down and discouraged with the way the world is currently operating, especially for those in the film industry. Instead of focusing on the “what ifs” take this time to instead think of the type of person you could be with this extra time given. Continuing to work on your craft when it comes to taking classes (adults and youth), participating in workshops, connecting with like-minded creatives, or even just doing something to expand your knowledge as a person, will be greatly beneficial with future auditions. Opportunities will come and the content will always continue to be made. Now is the time to act and think smarter so that you’re ready to go when we come out on the other side of this.
