An Actor's First Audition

An actor’s headshot is the first thing casting sees when considering you for a role. Having photos that not only showcase your personality, but also the wide array of characters an actor can embody is paramount to making a solid first impression with casting. During each headshot session at Catapult, different than any other headshot service, actors work with a Catapult coach and a professional photographer who will guide them into the depth of the character that will shine through in all of the images.

BEFORE THE SHOOT

After your headshot session is booked, you should start your preparation. We will email you details including what to bring for your session and what wardrobe options to bring. Solid colors and layers (jackets, sweaters, tanks, etc) are important. Grooming, hair and makeup are also important considerations. Time alloted in your session assumes you arrive “camera ready.” If you want to hire hair and make up help for an additional cost, email the studio and we will provide you recommendations. Its important to arrive 15 minutes early.

your shoot day

Please arrive 15 min before your scheduled appointment time. The photographer, the coach and you will select 3-4 looks and help decide in what order we will shoot. Make sure you bring everything we suggested. We will shoot 3 different looks, 4 if we have time. Be ready for a fun day getting into several different characters that will represent a variety of different roles in drama, comedy and commercials. If you made arrangements for onsite hair and makeup, you’ll arrive much earlier.

AFTER THE SHOOT

All photos will be uploaded to a website called Pixiset. You will receive a link with a PIN number to access your entire photo shoot within 24 hours. You can then take your time to review everything with your team and make selections. If you have an agent/manager, usually they like to help you make your choices. Four edited shots are included in the price of your session. Additional edits are available at $15 / image.
