The BASELINE designation is reserved for the introductory level of each course that Catapult offers. Each Baseline course is a prerequisite to its corresponding INTERMEDIATE or aDVANCED class, and should be taken in order to progress in Catapult’s Youth Acting Track. There are occasional exceptions, inquire here. It should be noted that Advanced classes can be taken indefinitely, as the material is always changing and no two semesters are the same.
This is an introductory course to improvisational comedy – the ever-growing art form where the actors make up everything in the moment. This class will teach actors how to listen, say YES, and develop an awareness for comedic timing.
Advanced youth improvisers will be invited to audition for Catapult’s improv house teams. This class will continue the training from Improv Baseline, developing stronger characters & bolder comedic choices.
This comedy course offers actors the opportunity to dive into sketch writing and sitcom acting! Actors will work on scripts from hit multicam and network sitcoms, learning the tools and techniques of this style of acting. Students will also write and act in their very own sketches!
