LET’S TALK STUNTS!
When watching your favorite movie or tv show, do you ever stop and wonder what it means to be a stunt performer? What does it take to be an action actor?
In this three day stunt action intensive, you will begin to learn the basic techniques of fighting on film, and most importantly how to keep yourself safe while performing your own action! The intensive will conclude with what it takes to actually perform in a stunt sequence. Techniques include how to properly fall down, throw a punch, and more when the cameras are rolling.
DAY 1
LEARN HOW TO FIGHT– Different ways to fall: back, sit, side, front
– Fight techniques: pushing, slaps, punches, hair pulls, kicks
– Camera angles
DAY 2
CHOREOGRAPH THE SCENE– Review falls
– Rolls
– Reaction work
– Choreograph a fight scene
DAY 3
FILM A STUNT SEQUENCE– Review content from the first few days – falls, rolls and reactions!
– Fight rehearsal
– Film a live stunt sequence
During the last two hours on Day 3, we will invite family to observe the live filming process. Q&A to follow filming, pending time constraints.
NOTE: All techniques listed are examples of techniques that may be taught. More or less specific techniques may be taught due to time and safety, at the instructor’s discretion.
