Pilot Season is the time during which the majority of Network Pilots are cast in the beginning few months of each year. This workshop was designed to help actors maximize their potential with regard to training, marketing materials, educating themselves with the upcoming pilot season, and how to succeed during arguably the busiest time of the year.
Catapult Acting Studios is excited to welcome two of the heaviest hitters representing talent in Los Angeles and Atlanta. Shepard Smith (Archetype Management) and Joy Pervis (J. Pervis Talent Agency) will be part of a two-day workshop, which will include scene preparation and on-camera work with two of Atlanta’s most sought-after coaches, Erik Lingvall & Joe Massingill. Participants will execute scenes with feedback and participate in a Q&A with these top industry pros.

SHEPARD SMITH
Archetype MANAGEMENTShepard began in 2001 as an agent trainee at ICM & moved into management in 2004. At Simmons & Scott Entertainment, he helped develop actors like Jesse Plemons, Nate Parker and Chris Zylka. He is now a manager at Archetype Management, and reps Drew Van Acker, Daniele Watts, Elizabeth Hunter, Caleb Ruminer & more.
Joy Pervis
TALENT AGENTJoy began her career in the entertainment industry 25 years ago in the Atlanta market when she created a talent agency specializing in young actors. In 2007, her impeccable eye for talent and her years of discovering and building careers earned her a position as Head Talent Scout for the prestigious Osbrink Agency located in Los Angeles, CA. In 2009, she joined her daughter in-law, Jayme Pervis, at the J Pervis Talent Agency, recognized as one of the top talent agency in the Southeast representing children and adults in all facets of the industry.
Joy is nationally recognized for discovering, developing, and/or representing actors such as sisters Dakota Fanning & Elle Fanning, Raven Symone’, Nolan Gould (ABC’s Modern Family), Lucas Till (CBS’s McGuyver), Chloe X Halle, Navia Robinson (Disney’s Raven’s Home), Algee Smith, Up and coming, Myles Truitt (KIN) and many more.

ERIK LINGVALL
INSTRUCTORBackstage.com contributor and winner of the 2015 Readers’ Choice for Atlanta’s Favorite Acting Coach, Erik brings with him over 15 years of experience guiding and training talent, throughout the country. As the founder of Catapult Acting Studios, Erik has established himself as one of the go-to coaches for TV/film actors in the Southeast. He is dedicated to guiding & connecting his clients to the right people & right path, always reminding them to enjoy the process as much as the end product.
JOE MASSINGILL
INSTRUCTORJoe is from Newnan, Georgia. In 2008, he graduated from Valdosta State University with a B.F.A. in Theatre Arts Performance, and he has worked as an actor, improviser, voice-over performer, and writer. Joe trained at the Aquila Morong Studio for Actors, specializing in the Stella Adler and Sanford Meisner acting techniques, and has also been a teacher and coach since 2016. Catch Joe on projects such as Trouble with the Curve, The Resident, Halt and Catch Fire, Nashville, NCIS: New Orleans, and Hart of Dixie.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Catapult Acting, LLC has a 24 hour grace period in which clients can cancel their registration and receive a full refund. After 24 hours, a 10% cancellation fee will apply to all registrations. If the client chooses to cancel 15-21 days before the event (classes, workshops & camps), a 50% refund will be issued. If the registration is cancelled within 14 days of the event, 100% of the payment will be forfeited.
