Pilot Season is the time during which the majority of Network Pilots are cast in the beginning few months of each year. This workshop was designed to help actors maximize their potential with regarding to training, marketing materials, educating themselves with the upcoming pilot season, and how to succeed during arguably the busiest time of the year.

Catapult Acting Studios is excited to welcome two of the heaviest hitters representing talent in Los Angeles (Ray Miller) and Atlanta (Trina Allen). They will be part of a two-day workshop, which will include scene preparation and on-camera work with two of Atlanta’s most sought-after coaches, Erik Lingvall & Joe Massingill. Participants will execute scenes with feedback and participate in a Q&A with these top industry pros.

Ray Miller

LA Manager

Ray Miller started his entertainment career as an agent trainee working in the Motion Picture Literary department of United Talent Agency (UTA), one of Hollywood’s most powerful talent agencies. While there he founded the UTA story department before departing to work in feature film production as an executive at Behaviour Worldwide. As a young executive, he worked on numerous feature films including EYE OF THE BEHOLDER starring Ewan McGregor and Ashley Judd, MGM release DECEIVER starring Renée Zellweger and Tim Roth, Universal release THE MUSKETEER starring Mena Suvari and Tim Roth among others.

Leaving Behaviour Ray had brief stints at The Gersh Agency and Evolution Management before founding Archetype, a talent management and production company. Focused on young and emerging talent, current clients include Rita Volk the lead of MTV’s groundbreaking series “Faking It” and a lead of Edward Burns’ feature “Summertime”, and recurring on the critically acclaimed series “Condor”, comedian Natalie Palamides from the upcoming Fox animated series “Ducanville” as well as the London SoHo Theatre production of “Nate” (and soon to be a Television special), Jessica Lord the lead of the Hulu series “Find me in Paris”, Haley Strode from the Nick@Nite series “Wendell & Vinnie”, and Dayo Ade recurring on Netflix’s “October Faction” and formerly of the CBC series “Cracked”.

Besides management duties, Ray is also a producer with credits on the film “After Sex” with Mila Kunis, Taryn Manning and Zoe Saldana and on the Sundance premiere “Love & Sex” with Famke Janssen and Jon Favreau. On the development side, Ray is also attached to “Hiding in Time” created by client Christopher Long  which is currently set up at MGM Television, “Freakshow” created by David Server and Jackson Lanzing and to be written and directed by Mark Protosevitch, and “Lost Squad” written by Gavin Scott and adapted from a graphic novel by client Chris Kirby.

Trina Allen

Trina is a founding partner of PLAY Management, one of the most successful full-service talent agencies in Canada. She represents client’s endeavors in film, television and production in both Canada and the United States, and has recently led the expansion of PLAY with the opening of the office in Atlanta, GA.

As the founder of Catapult Acting Studios, Erik has established himself as one of the go-to coaches for TV/film actors in the Southeast. He is dedicated to guiding & connecting his clients to the right people & right path, always reminding them to enjoy the process as much as the end product.

JOE MASSINGILL

INSTRUCTOR

Joe is from Newnan, Georgia. In 2008, he graduated from Valdosta State University with a B.F.A. in Theatre Arts Performance, and he has worked as an actor, improviser, voice-over performer, and writer. Joe trained at the Aquila Morong Studio for Actors, specializing in the Stella Adler and Sanford Meisner acting techniques, and has also been a teacher and coach since 2016. Catch Joe on projects such as Trouble with the Curve, The Resident, Halt and Catch Fire, Nashville, NCIS: New Orleans, and Hart of Dixie.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Catapult Acting, LLC has a 24 hour grace period in which clients can cancel their registration and receive a full refund. After 24 hours, a 10% cancellation fee will apply to all registrations. If the client chooses to cancel 15-21 days before the event (classes, workshops & camps), a 50% refund will be issued. If the registration is cancelled within 14 days of the event, 100% of the payment will be forfeited.
