Freedom through Movement | Teens
Free your body and your mind will follow! Expand your acting horizons by exploring the world of movement-based acting with Catapult Coach and Dance Instructor, Suzanne Zoller.
This workshop will explore various physical acting disciplines to help you get out of your head and into your body. As film actors, we are constantly told to “rein it in” and “keep it grounded”, but what happens when you need to go big or go home? How do you get there when you don’t know how, and how do you translate that big energy to the small screen? Let’s groove together and access the vast expanse of your physicality to make you a better, freer, more dynamic actor. Please prepare a monologue of your choosing, wear comfortable, movement friendly clothes, and bring a water bottle.
– Aspects of Gaga, Laban, and Viewpoints Physical Acting Disciplines
– Using the physical to inform the emotional
– How to move freely in your body, release tension, and erase self-consciousness
– Sharpening your observational skills both internally and externally
– Applying these physical disciplines to monologue work
