Advanced youth acting prep 8

AN INTENSIVE CLASS SERIES

AYA Prep 8 is an intensive class series for the advanced youth actor. AYA Prep 8 takes a deep sequential dive into each step of the Arvold Warner Total Preparation curriculum carried out over the span of eight classes within a two month time frame. Each two (2) hour class contains nuanced analyzation and character development guided by the 10-step Total Preparation process presented in the Arvold Warner Studio’s core curriculum.AYA Prep 8 will be helmed by master teacher Erica Arvold. For the advanced youth actor,AYA Prep 8 is appropriate for those who have taken AWS’s Total Preparation 10-step intensives previously and are desiring further understanding and practice of each step and for those who are keenly aware of and practiced in their own preparation process and open to learning and discovering additional methods. Actors will work on two film/television scenes (one self-assigned, another provided) throughout the two months and develop an ability to make strong and bold choices while deepening craft skill and developing full and nuanced characters appropriate for auditioning and set work. AYA Prep 8 is not a scene study class;AYA Prep 8 is a preparation and character development class focused on the discovery and harnessing of one’s own craft tools and process.

COURSE BACKGROUND

Arvold Warner Studio’s Total Preparation curriculum was conceived and developed to help translate the classical study of Stanislavski and its derivatives into a practical and sensory process for the modern day film and television role. Focusing on craft skill for the day player, co-star and guest star roles in today’s Southeast and MidAtlantic markets, AWS’s Total Preparation curriculum has helped focus, streamline, authenticate and drive further craft study for many actors.
