WHAT IS THE AUDITION GAUNTLET?

AUDITION GAUNTLET is a VIRTUAL three-day intensive providing actors with in-depth training and the opportunity to “audition” for three different industry pros…back to back to back! The first two days will be 3 hours of focused script work, audition prep, and creating characters. On Day 3, each actor will rotate between three Zoom “rooms”, executing their scenes for a Top ATL Agent, Top ATL Producer, and Top LA Pro.

For this workshop, actors will need to prepare a 1.5-2 page script, preferably with only two characters, that best showcases your acting ability. We will include a link to our scene database in the confirmation email. It is important to note that if you select a scene with more than two pages to please make the necessary edits to cut it down to the appropriate length. We also advise scenes with minimal-to-no graphic content and language. The goal should be to find a scene that not only highlights your type and talent, but also excites you to make bold, fun choices!

THIS THREE DAY WORKSHOP WILL COVER
  • Memorization Techniques
  • Conquering the “Cold Read”
  • What do agents look for?
  • What do Casting Directors look for?
  • How to impress industry pros
  • The Signature Slate
  • Keys to “Owning the Room”
  • How to truly “Let Go”
  • Embracing your Authenticity
  • Creating a WINNING Mindset
  • Crafting a compelling character

Kimberly Wistedt

CASTING ASSOCIATE > FINCANNON CASTING

While stage managing many of the mainstage productions at the University of Florida, Kimberly became fascinated with the process of an actor attaining a role. She sat in every audition alongside the director – hearing his thoughts and reactions to the talent at hand.  This was the beginning of her journey into casting!  After her junior year of college, Kimberly spent the summer in New York City interning for the renowned Broadway casting director Tara Rubin.  Post graduation, she moved back to New York City to intern for casting powerhouse, Bernard Telsey of Telsey + Company casting.  Later, as the commercial casting apprentice, she ran sessions for such companies as Apple, Macy’s, and Target.  When the city life kept her too far from family and loved ones, Kimberly decided to make the move back to her home town of Atlanta to take part in the television and film industry boom in the Southeast. She’s been with Fincannon & Associates since February of 2013, and is thrilled for what’s to come in this bustling Atlanta market!
