Sketch Class | INTERMEDIATE | ages: 10-15

This comedy course offers actors the opportunity to dive into sketch writing, acting and producing!  Actors will work on writing their very own sketches, while learning valuable production skills as they film their work!

Class focal points:

– Creating ridiculous yet grounded characters
– Sketch shows such as SNL and ALL THAT
– Comedy techniques such as 180’s and the rule of 3’s
– How to “find the funny” in a sketch
– Creating and heightening the “game” of a sketch
– Defining the premise of their sketch

CANCELLATION POLICY

Catapult Acting, LLC has a 24 hour grace period in which clients can cancel their registration and receive a full refund. After 24 hours, a 10% cancellation fee will apply to all registrations. If the client chooses to cancel 15-21 days before the event, a 50% refund will be issued. If the registration is cancelled within 14 days of the event, 100% of the payment will be forfeited. PLEASE NOTE: There are no refunds for missed, dropped or cancelled classes; should your schedule change once registered and within the cancellation policy.

In the event that “Shelter in Place” or another quarantine situation should take place, workshops + classes will continue virtually via Zoom. The cancellation policy above will still apply.

Casey Navarro

Instructor

Originally from Beavercreek Ohio, Casey is a seasoned stand-up, sketch, and improv comedy performer/writer.  She spent 5 years touring with Second City Chicago and was recently waitlisted for SNL writer. Before moving to Atlanta from LA, she taught at the Groundlings School and was head Joke Writer for three separate Party Games. She is also a playwright, joining artists like Lily Tomlin and Sigourney Weaver as an Artist in Residency at Saint Mary’s College where she wrote and directed her first full-length, multi-media dark comedy about violence against women called LUCKY LIAR LOSER. Before the pause button was pressed, Casey had just completed a stand-up tour in Europe and spent 4 months at sea performing comedy on NCL’s Breakaway. You can also catch her on a few commercials spots for brands like Big Lots and Ally Bank.

DANNY ANNONE

INSTRUCTOR

Danny received his BFA in Theatre from the University of Central Florida, acquiring theatre credits ranging from traveling Children’s Theatres (Hampstead Stage, Madcap Puppets) to Regional theatres like the Orlando Shakes. Danny has also performed live sketch comedy and improv steadily over eight years, most recently working with the Mighty Shorts Comedy Collective here in Atlanta.  Film/TV credits include projects such as Atlanta, Doom Patrol, Richard Jewell, and Gemini Man, among others.
